Logging into DataXchange: ERROR message "An unexpected error occurred..." received

When attempting to log into the DataXchange client OR clicking the ODI or chart tabs within the application, you might receive the following ERROR message:

If you receive this message, try the following troubleshooting step(s):
1/ In File Explorer, delete the folder located at C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Local\Scytec\PCS folder
This should remove the application and clear the settings

Alternatively, see below for questions to answer before proceeding:
1/ What version of Windows is running on that PC?
The application runs on Windows 10 and requires Microsoft .NET 4.7.2 or newer with all updates
For the desktop, Windows 10 or greater is required, and for a server Windows Server 2016 or greater is required.
2/ Is this happening on any other PC, or only one?
3/ If only one, can someone else log into that PC and install DataXchange and see if the same error happens?
This will tell us whether it is related to your Windows profile or the PC itself
4/ Is this machine using a different kind of video card than the other PCs where it works?
Common Issue: some are using USD>HDMI adapter

If these questions have not helped and you're still receiving the ERROR message, please submit a Support ticket to dxhelp@scytec.com. Thanks!
