Heidenhain TNC - Checking Option 18 Status

Heidenhain controls require HEIDENHAIN DNC (Option 18) to be enabled in order to integrate with external software. To check if Option 18 is enabled, follow these steps.

1. Make sure the machine is in Programming (Edit) mode.
2. Press the MOD button.
3. In the "Code number" field enter SIK and press OK.



4. Check the state of Option 18 in the list. If enabled, the box next to 18 "HEIDENHAIN DNC" will be checked. If it is disabled, as shown below, please contact Scytec or your machine tool distributor.



The steps are similar for the iTNC530, though the menus look a little different.

After pressing MOD, enter the password SIK into the text field at the top then press Enter.



Option 18 is shown in the list. In this example it is enabled.
