The Scytec Status Relay Controller Ethernet (SRCE) is Ethernet based and can be plugged into the network using a standard RJ-45 connection. It behaves like any other device that is plugged into the network and by default, the device is set to DHCP.
A static IP address can be configured on the SRCE using Bluetooth and a mobile device. You will also need a paper clip or something similar to press the Bluetooth button on the SRCE. Please consult your IT department to determine the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway before continuing.
Once you open the app, you may be asked if it can use your location. Press allow when prompted as this may affect connectivity to the SRCE.
Press Start to continue. The app will prompt you to activate Bluetooth
on the SRCE. Press the small button under the Bluetooth logo on the SRCE using
a paper clip or something similar. The blue LED will start to flash. Press Next
and the App will search for an nearby SRCE with Bluetooth active. It may take a
couple of tries, so if the search fails, repeat the first few steps to try
again. If the blue LED on the SRCE stops flashing, press the button on the SRCE
again.
Once the connection is successful, click Next. You may be prompted to enter a name for this device. This step is optional. Click Next to continue. There are two possibilities: either the network settings for the SRCE will appear and can be set immediately, or the Current Setting menu will appear. If the Current Setting menu appears, press the button shown below to change the IP Settings.
Example of the New CLICK PLUS Screen (If this screen appears, disconnect Bluetooth and retry. If the screen continues to appear, contact Scytec):
The Current Setting screen will be shown if the PLC has been
configured before, or if the mobile device has been used to configure a PLC in
the past:
Select “Use the following IP Address” and enter the IP information from your IT department. Press Select to save the settings.
Note: The list of wireless networks may be blank under some circumstances. If no networks appear, try removing any antenna from the SRCE and search for wireless networks again. The antenna can be reattached after wireless setup is completed.
After selecting a network, enter the wireless password and configure the IP Address settings.
