How to Configure Network Settings on Older Fanuc Controls (FOCAS1)

Overview

This article explains how to configure Ethernet settings on FOCAS1-enabled controls.

Instructions

  1. Place the CNC in MDI mode.
  2. Press the [SYSTEM] key.
  3. Press the right-most softkey to advance the menu until you see [ETHPRM]
  4. Press [ETHPRM] to display the available Ethernet connections. You may see EMBEDDED PORT or PCMCIA depending on the type of connection you have.
5. Press [EMBEDD] to configure settings for an embedded port. Press PCMCIA to configure settings for a PCMCIA Ethernet card.
6. Use the keys on the control to configure the settings. The Page Up and Page Down keys can be used to change pages for additional options.
a. Pay special attention to the IP Address and Port Number (TCP) values. These are needed to connect external systems to FOCAS.
